A woman in a black coat stands with her arms outstretched on a wooden platform overlooking the turbulent, foamy rapids of a wide river. The scene is framed by the steep steps of a wooden staircase leading down to the platform.

The White Water Walk is a unique attraction designed to showcase the magnificent power of the River’s Class 6 Whitewater rapids. This walk is located along the edge of the Niagara River. The tour starts with a descent when the elevator takes the visitors 70 meters down to the gorge. Visitors have to walk a 73-meter tunnel after leaving the elevator. The tunnel leads the tourists to the broad White Water Walk of Niagara Falls which stretches 305 meters along the side of the rapids.

As soon as the visitors start their walk, they get lost in the sights and sounds of the most powerful rivers of North America. The strength of the flow of the water at the rate of 48 km/h made these rapids famous.

The walk is not only about adventure, it also provides you insights about the educational history of the Niagara region. Information panels and interpretive displays provide information about the area throughout your journey. Visitors will come to know about the 410 million-year-old rock formations of Niagara Gorge. The panel also discusses how these rock layers contribute to the area’s ecosystem, and flora and fauna, which is the characteristic of this zone.

Also, at the site of the White Water Walk outstanding historical panels are installed which pay tribute to certain heroes like the heroines like Harriet Tubman who was involved in the Underground Railroad. These informative aspects enhance the novelty, thus giving the guests a chance to briefly enjoy not only the beauty of the rapids, but also the history, and geology of the area behind the boom.
